In just under a month, I will be making my way to Nashville, TN for Youth Specialties', 2013 National Youth Workers Convention (NYWC). The NYWC is one of my favorite youth worker events for training, encouragement, and all sorts of resources and possibilities. Having attended well over 12 conventions, I am so excited for this year NYWC!
The NYWC is by-far, the leader in conventions and conferences for youth workers. While the look and locations and staffing maybe change over the years, the mission of the convention has never changed. Their goal, simply stated on their website is this, "The National Youth Workers Convention (NYWC) is a gathering of people from all around the country (and the world!) who work with and care about teenagers. It’s an opportunity for you and your team to get training, be inspired and encouraged, do some bonding and team building, and have fun!"
YS, has been training and encouraging youth workers since the 1960's! Not only do they know what their doing, they LOVE youth workers!!
As I said, this year I will be attending the NYWC, in Nashville. But I won't be attending as a participant. Instead, I will be working behind the sense on the Main Stage! Serving on staff or not, NYWC is something to look forward to, year after year. This will be my 14th NYWC and my 5th serving with the staff.
This month, I hope to share with you a few thoughts and some great resources the NYWC and Youth Specialties present, along with why I love NYWC! So be sure to check in this month as we talk NYWC!
